Beach, countryside, or mountains?
Choose the vacation experience that’s right for you
From the Mediterranean to the Southern Alps, the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur region showcases its natural and cultural wonders. Here, historical heritage and breathtaking landscapes are closely intertwined, all under a sun that’s a delight to enjoy in both summer and winter! Camping in PACA is a year-round activity, whether you’re looking to enjoy the snow or the sea, for a relaxing vacation at a wellness campground, or for a stay packed with activities.
In the PACA region, you’ll discover the joys of the sea! From your campground on the French Riviera, a wide range of water sports awaits you—from water skiing and jet skiing to scuba diving and tubing—as well as relaxation on famous beaches such as those at Saint-Aygulf near Fréjus, Les Cigales in Port-Grimaud, or L’Espagnol in Bormes-les-Mimosas, as well as the beaches of Hyères and its national park featuring the islands of Porquerolles and Port-Cros. The coves and turquoise waters, along with seafood cuisine infused with the flavors of the South, are sure to turn your camping trip in Provence into an unforgettable experience! As for the Camargue, it offers a completely different atmosphere, with its salt marshes, flamingos, and vast expanses protected by a regional nature park…
A little further north, the spectacular Verdon Gorge awaits you, opening onto the magnificent Lake Sainte-Croix. Another chance to enjoy your favorite water sports—but this time in freshwater, right from your lakeside campground! In Avignon, the Rhône River awaits you, but above all, a historic center shaped by papal influence, just north of the Alpilles and their must-see gem, Les Baux-de-Provence… In these lands where the sun shines down on sparse vegetation, it’s the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to a campground with a swimming pool in the PACA region—why not in the heart of the Luberon Regional Park, for a complete change of scenery! All the way to Mont Ventoux, the vineyards paint a picture-perfect vacation landscape before blending into the lavender fields of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.
As the landscape gradually becomes more rugged,the Provençal atmosphere remains ever-present, and the local cuisine—which you can discover at the various campsites throughout the PACA region—adds to your vacation experience: the vineyards of Orange, calissons from Aix, Camargue rice, olive oil from Nyons, bouillabaisse from Marseille… Heading toward the mountains, the specialties take on a more Alpine character, featuring a wide variety of cheeses, Champsaur tourtons, and cured meats.
It must be said that the northern part of Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur is a completely different world. Even in the Mercantour Natural Park, high above Nice, the peaks reach 3,000 meters, rising to over 4,000 meters in the heart of the Écrins National Park. The campgrounds in the Hautes-Alpes welcome you to enjoy the benefits of the high altitude in both summer and winter, thanks to winter camping. This is the perfect region to immerse yourself in the mountains at a nature-oriented campground that highlights the area’s natural beauty—not to mention the Vauban forts that dot the Italian border, just waiting to be explored…
The diversity of camping in the PACA region guarantees a rich and exotic vacation: everyone will find the landscapes and activities that suit them, as well as unexpected experiences and discoveries—such as staying in unique accommodation —that are the very essence of a successful and unforgettable camping trip!

Can I pay for the booking with vacation checks?
Most of our members are ANCV-approved. While the balance can be paid using vacation checks (physical or Connect), the booking deposit is generally required to be paid by credit card to confirm the contract.
What are the refund policies in the event of a cancellation?
Refund policies vary depending on each establishment’s sales contract. If the customer does not have cancellation insurance, the deposit is contractually retained by the operator. We strongly recommend encouraging customers to purchase the cancellation insurance offered at the time of Booking.
Are pets allowed at campgrounds?
Pets are allowed subject to the establishment’s approval (excluding Category 1 and 2 dogs). An up-to-date vaccination record and a leash are required. An additional fee may apply.
Is Wi-Fi available at campgrounds?
Wi-Fi is widely available, but it is often a paid service. While some establishments offer a free zone (such as the front desk), full coverage of the premises may be subject to a separate fee to ensure high-quality connectivity.
Do you have accommodations suitable for people with limited mobility?
In accordance with regulations, our campgrounds offer accommodations specifically designed for people with limited mobility and ensure accessibility to common facilities (reception, sanitary facilities, swimming pools).
Can I charge my electric vehicle using the outlet at my campsite or in my Mobile home?
The outlets at the camping pitches are rated for normal household use. Charging an electric vehicle involves prolonged and intense power consumption that far exceeds their capacity, causing the electrical systems to overheat and posing a serious fire hazard that could endanger the entire campground.
Before your stay, check to see if a dedicated charging station is available. More and more establishments in the region are making the necessary arrangements to accommodate electric vehicles under the best possible conditions.
What is the eco-fee, and why is it charged?
The eco-fee is a modest contribution, separate from the cost of the stay, that some campgrounds charge to directly fund concrete environmental initiatives. In the South region, it helps, in particular, to:
- waste management and treatment: source separation, recycling, and reducing the volume of waste sent to landfills;
- the conservation of water resources: particularly valuable in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, which is prone to recurring droughts. Managing these resources responsibly entails a real cost;
- Maintenance of natural areas: trails, hedgerows, and biodiversity zones near school grounds.
By paying the environmental fee, you are directly contributing to the preservation of the Mediterranean landscapes and natural resources of our region.
Can I have outside visitors at my campground?
Yes, but hosting outside visitors requires prior authorization from the manager, for three specific reasons:
- Safety: The manager is responsible for all persons on site and must be able to identify them in the event of an incident or evacuation;
- Insurance: The campground’s insurance coverage applies to registered guests—an unregistered visitor is not covered in the event of an accident;
- Peace and quiet: Managing visitor traffic helps maintain a peaceful environment for all campers.
Depending on the facility, visits may be free or subject to a daily fee. Check with the front desk before your loved ones arrive.
Which quality certifications guarantee the level of service at campgrounds in the South region?
Many member campgrounds are participating in certification programs overseen by independent organizations:
- Camping Qualité: a national certification that guarantees personalized hospitality, well-maintained facilities, and customer service verified through regular audits.
- Clef Verte: an international eco-responsibility certification that recognizes concrete commitments in the areas of water, energy, waste, and biodiversity.
- “Qualité Tourisme”: a government-recognized certification that acknowledges professionals committed to continuously improving hospitality and services.
These certifications are subject to regular audits by independent organizations—a concrete guarantee of the quality of your stay in the South region.
